## _Infinite Thread_ Thorbjørn Bechmann, Maja Dlugolecki, & Kenny Nguyen _March 31 - May 7, 2022_ Introspection is at the heart of Thorbjørn Bechmann, Maja Dlugolecki, and Kenny Nguyen’s work – each artist is intuitively guided in their practice. Their artwork reveals layered meditations, glimpses into their unique methods through which experience and memory are beautifully abstracted. Thorbjørn Bechmann lives and works in Copenhagen. His vivid stained canvases recall prominent color field methods. Through a multitude of hues, shadow, and shades Bechmann’s work vibrates with a sense of urgency. One of his most recent exhibitions, "Constant Negotiation," was rewarded by the Danish Arts Foundation for its radical investigation of a gesture-based painting. Maja Dlugolecki is a Los Angeles-based artist. She approaches painting as an extension of remembering – each piece reflects a specific personal moment in time. In lieu of a daily journal, Dlugolecki assigns past recorded thoughts to her titles. She feels this process best reflects the emotional elusivity of a moment and how time to reflect provides a clearer understanding of the self. Kenny Nguyen was born and raised in South Vietnam, and currently lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina. Before pursuing art full-time, Nguyen was a fashion designer in Ho Chi Minh City. Nguyen’s current body of work employs silk as its medium. The traditional and cultural significance of silk combined with the artist’s manipulation of the medium into a sculptural installation tracks Nguyen’s transformation as an artist and an individual, understanding the intersection of the past and the present.
