About the Exhibition:
In Compendium, Timothy Wilson explores the rugged and mysteriously evocative Maine coastline. Many of these works were painted en plein air, allowing the fleeting moments and emotion which comes with viewing nature in its purest form to be transferred directly to the canvas. In conjunction with the landscape works, the exhibition includes studio pieces which are inspired by the outdoors: both the more ethereal landscape and figurative gestations. Wilson works closely with the Maine Coast Heritage Trust, to bring awareness to preserving the inspiring nature inherent to Maine.
