Catching Up With:
Wright Harvey

LIVES IN / Carnegie Hill, Manhattan

WORKS IN / Bushwick, Brooklyn

OCCUPATION / Co-founder and CEO at Sugarlift

ON THE CLOCK / I’m up early, “run” one lap around the Reservoir in Central Park, and then spend some quality time on the subway reading NYT Now on the way out to Brooklyn. My days consist of meetings with artists, printmakers and collectors. My favorite part of the job is brainstorming and commissioning new artwork with the many talented young artists working with Sugarlift. At night, I love checking out new art show openings or going to an event with the Morgan Library Young Fellow’s or MoMA JA’s. But the nights I look forward to the most are spent at home cooking dinner with my wife, Calvine, and cracking open a bottle of wine.

YOUR ART WEEKEND / My favorite art weekend begins with a trip to the Met on Friday nights. Calvine and I meet at the same place on the front steps where we got engaged. We toast the weekend at the Balcony Bar until the museum empties out and then walk through the Old Masters collection or check out a new show with the galleries to ourselves.

ALBUM / Lonerism, by Tame Impala

FILM / Boyhood

ARTIST / Walton Ford -- Falling Bough is one of my favorite paintings of all time.

BOOK / Setting the Table, by Danny Meyer

EATS / Eleven Madison Park for a special occasion -- sit at the bar and ask Kirk for a tour of the beer list. Our favorite neighborhood joints are ABV and Sfoglia.

LATEST PURCHASE / Will Cotton lithograph, Cupcake Papers, from Pace Prints

GUILTY PLEASURE / Fortified wines -- right now, Amontillado sherry or Madeira

GRADE IN ART CLASS / Honorable mention in high school pottery. Printmaking major in college. I still watercolor on the weekends.

36 HOURS / A summer trip up to Ogunquit, Maine to walk the beach, watch the waves crash against the rocks Winslow Homer-style, cruise with Jack on the Silver Lining, grab a lobster roll and some steamah’s (and a rum punch) at Barnacle Billy’s, and take Calvine out to MC’s in Perkins Cove for the lobster mac-n-cheese. Hit repeat.
