Alexander Jowett

Distant Storm is from the artists Horizon Lines series and uses beach weathered/aged canvas, which the artist then paints his meditative lines over. Jowetts Horizon Lines series are abstract line drawings that follow from Kant's metaphysics and draws upon zen Buddhist philosophies. The artist draws out each line in a slow meditative pace, whilst kneeling down. In meditating on his lines he hopes the viewer will come to feel a similar contemplative calmness as felt when one sits and watches the horizon.
