Alexander Jowett

Night Swim is from Jowett's Horizon Lines series of abstract drawings and paintings. Jowett's Horizon Lines series are abstract line drawings that follow from Kant's metaphysics and draws upon zen Buddhist philosophies. The artist draws out each line in a slow meditative pace, whilst kneeling down. In meditating on his lines he hopes the viewer will come to feel a similar contemplative calmness as felt when one sits and watches the horizon. *The subtle vertical line effect in first pic is due to resizing of the photo and is not part of the actual piece.
