This is the study for the large version of "15 Minute Parking, Bronx". For all of my large paintings, I do a color study first. Since the large version can take me up to 3 months to complete painting on location, I want to be sure I figure out my composition ahead of time and stretch the right size canvas. Once I figure out my composition, then I stretch the large canvas and get outdoors to paint that asap. In the winter, I go back into the studies and add more details using the large version of the painting as reference. This is why I call my studies "finished studies".
