Exit Point: Angela Gram and Lydia Baker

February 11 - March 11, 2021

In Exit Point, Angela Gram and Lydia Baker use elements from the known - the horse, the dancing figure, the cactus or avian creature - to invite viewers in, teasing us with the familiar before sending us reeling into their mythical worlds. Two young female artists working in representation untethered to realism, Gram and Baker employ a kind of magic through their mediums, asking viewers to explore their own definitions of, and exit points from, reality.

Exit Point opened Thursday, February 11th with a socially-distanced reception in-person at Sugarlift, 508 W 28th Street and online in the Artsy viewing room.

Angela Gram received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from the New York Academy of Art. Her work has been shown throughout the United States and internationally with Gallery Poulsen in Copenhagen, Denmark. Lydia Baker received her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and her MFA from the New York Academy of Art. Her work has been shown throughout the United States, most recently in the Chubb Insurance Viewing Room through Art Basel Miami Beach.
