Draw Central Park

About the exhibition
On Saturday morning, September 17, 2016, Sugarlift and the ballpoint artists Dina Brodsky, Guno Park and Nicolas V. Sanchez invited New Yorkers to spend a few free hours drawing in Central Park. Participants checked in by the Harlem Meer, picked up drawing supplies from Sugarlift and set off through the park on their own, where two models posed in the landscape. By noon everyone was back with their drawings to share them with the three hosts and meet other artists, and the group gathered for a photo, drawings held high.
Everyone was welcome, from seasoned artists to first-time sketchers, and guests who did not draw came to watch. It was the second drawing event Sugarlift organized with Brodsky, Park and Sanchez, after Draw the High Line earlier that year brought out more than 200 artists and art lovers. As Brodsky put it, "Drawing is a way to connect to the infinitely interesting world we live in."
