Description
Description
"Cha Da Vela" (time for tea), captures a Sikh volunteer from The Golden Temple (Amritsar, India) in the moment as he pours hot tea from a huge vat into smaller containers to serve visitors. The 200+ volunteers serve over 50,000 to 100,000 people hot, free meals daily. "Often portraits have celebrated royalty, wealth, and professional achievements... I was grateful to be able to return to The Golden Temple and create portraits that shine a light on the humble acts of ordinary people that knit a community together." Manu Saluja
