The Bay Window, Late Winter, 2021
16" H x 20" W
In this painting, houseplants that my mother grew sit in a sunlit window, recreated in cut paper. The angle of the light and shapes of the leaves make present a place that is both familiar and inaccessible. Fleeting daylight, a fragile object, and fading memory are preserved in a frozen moment, in the slowly built-up layers of paint.
