A painting on paper that includes a faux painted blue tape boarder. Blue masking tape is part of my process to keep the paper flat during water based paint application. At some point I began experimenting with pre painting a faux blue tape edge to my paper. This painted edge reminded me of the edge found in “contact prints” in old photography. The faux tape serves to both frame the image and to make the painting less of a "picture" and more of an "object".
