Anne Moses

Eleni is a beautiful young French woman who, although quite shy and timid, also has great inner strength and determination - universal qualities which I hoped to portray. At the time of working on this portrait of her she had just finished a love affair..I responded to her wistful and rather sad expression. My main area of interest has always been the human face and form encompassing universal recognition of emotion and sensuality seen up close. Working from life and my original source material the painting was scaled up and executed in many layers of transparent oil colour glazes.
