Brad Davis

This van is parked on a street near my studio and has been left in place for months. I loved the array of texture and color across its crumpled surface and I set out to paint its form as empathetically as possible. In the process of working on this piece, I found it interesting how vehicles like this tell a story of poverty and social status. I also wanted to emphasize the double meaning as it is both a Chrysler Town and Country, but also a trope that is equally pervasive in the city and the country.
