Caitlin Winner

I had the Florentine painter Bernardo Daddi in mind when I started this piece. In particular, the second of his eight panels in the Vatican: The apparition in a dream of St. Gamaliele. I love the strange alignment of the figures. One floating, one sleeping. This piece is painted mostly from memory over the course of the winter. I used grainy photos as a reference and pulled colors from the night light in my children's bedroom.
