This large scale piece is influenced by the rich gold Baroque period interiors. It took months to complete due to the complexity of the details on the Aubergine and in the background gold scroll work. I also wanted to create a heightened effect of 3-dimensionality and painted the elaborate carved scroll work with the illusion that it was sitting on top of the aluminium panel.
