This painting began with very thin washes of acrylic paint as a block in followed by layers of oil paint to develop the depth in the painting. The dramatic colorful Florida skies influenced the colors used to depict this serene wetland. When painting in NY I'd gravitate toward the wetlands because the reflecting sky in the water was a strong contrast against the grasses.
