Copper & Cobalt, 2000
Painting
18" H x 24" W
$3,000
My Trompe l'oeil painting, "Copper & Cobalt" is part of my painting series where I pair a primary color with a metal. The central portion of this painting is oil on Belgian linen that I hand stretched and primed then painted objects relating to copper and coealt blues. The natural wood frame was hand created by my carpenter friend. I then painted objects atop this wooden frame, as well. The arial view of the circular copper bowl at the top left hand corner is actually a circular cut piece of wood that I then painted the copper bowl onto and then adhered this wood piece to the wood frame.
"Copper & Cobalt" is currently included in the Allied Artists of America's online 109th open juried exhibition (September 1, 2022- September 1, 2023.
