Scarlet & Stainless Steel, 2002
24" H x 12" W
My Trompe l'oeil painting, "Scarlet and Stainless Steel" is part of my ongoing series of paintings where I pair a primary color with a metal. This painting is actually a framed wooden box with the painting on Belgian linen, which sets into this wooden box and can be either hung on a wall or stand on it's own. Picturing every day items that I like to use, it is also a self-portrait of sorts, where I am reflected in the pot's lid just below the upper shelf.
