Description
Description
Created as part of the BP Portrait Travel Award, this work was exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London and Aberdeen Art Gallery in Scotland in 2020. The painting depicts the camaraderie of three volunteers at the free kitchen of the Golden Temple in Amritsar, India - rolling out dough to make flatbreads that will be served to over 50,000 people that day. "I was captivated by the harmony of colors, the light (roshni) that streamed through the window, and their laughter as they worked" - Manu Saluja
