Painted in cumulative response to experiences at Burnt Cove, Newfoundland, ‘Time Weighs on the Heart’ pushes the colour palette in my work, whilst making it ever more emotive. The sea at Burnt Cove seems to swell at you from all directions, yet holds the calm of a place unchanged. The process of painting, I hope, allows the viewer in to that experience. Painted on a gessoed wood panel, it is ready to hang.
