Description
Description
Banrighe is Scottish Gaelic for 'Queen.' This is a portrait of my good friend and muse, Danna. In it I attempted to capture and accentuate her peculiar and stunning nature beauty, as well as impart an intense psychological mood. The painting is also an exploration of jewel-like colours, intricate organic patterns and diverse textures through the medium of oil paint. I built the painting up in an indirect method of overlapping layers to create unique, luminescent colours in the flesh tones and hair.
