This painting was actually painted in the hills of Tennessee with a dear friend modelling for me. I've been wanting to paint her and originally I had planned to do an indoor study. But driving to her house in the hills that morning I got more and more anticipation for an outdoor painting, as the fog was not lifting and the colours looked so perfectly muted. The outfit was quickly chosen and my friend brazed the freezing soft rain, while I did a smaller composition and colour painting which later served for this final piece which I finished in the studio.
