Anthony Lister Mural at Sugarlift
Apr 22, 2015
Sugarlift, 200 Morgan Ave, Bushwick, Brooklyn

About the exhibition
One night in April 2015, the Australian street artist Anthony Lister stopped by Sugarlift's gallery on Morgan Avenue and painted a new mural on its outside wall. Working with rollers, spray cans and a fire extinguisher, he built up a towering, pirouetting ballerina in just a few hours, full of color and movement in his signature style of figures in motion.
Sugarlift photographed the process, from the first white outlines and sweeps of yellow to the finished figure, and invited everyone to come to 200 Morgan Avenue to see the painting in person. The mural was still on the building in May, with Lister's yellow signature beside the gallery's sign, as Sugarlift turned to street art for its Bushwick Open Studios show that June.
