About the exhibition

Call Me When You Get This was a one-night exhibition and artist panel on the Bowery for three painters who work without reference: Esteban Ocampo-Giraldo, Danica Lundy and Jacob Brooks. They paint with no photograph, no bowl of fruit, not even a specific image in mind. Starting from a blank canvas, they let memories and dreams, exaggerated with each remembrance, take shape in bold, vivid and nostalgic forms: brush, artist and canvas in their purest form.

On April 25, 2019, Sugarlift filled a storefront at 213 Bowery with their paintings for one evening, the show's title spelled out in vinyl across the windows. At 7 PM the three artists talked about their direct approach to painting in a panel moderated by Sugarlift founder Wright Harvey, in front of a packed house. Sponsor Ozymandias Wines supplied the wine, in bottles whose labels featured the work of New York Academy of Art student Jay Miriam.

Ocampo-Giraldo returned to Sugarlift in 2022 for his solo exhibition DE TODO & CHILL.
